Unremembered Victory is an extraordinary story
full of heroism and a piece of history that I
never heard about. Mr. Klein writes from the
heart and much of this really propels the reader
forward.

Klein is an extraordinary writer. Not at all
self-conscious. Puts it all out there. His
passion for this is crystal clear. Altogether a
pretty amazing story. Read it TWICE. The
eyewitness account about the 200 high school
students was fascinating. He should take a crack
at the screenplay.

I served in Korea during the war and have always
been interested in action taken after my
departure. On occasion I heard stories of
firefights, an overview with few details. This
book is excellent, it tells the unbiased stories
of those serving on the DMZ. I can understand
what these men went through. Like the Forgotten
War those serving on the DMZ were forgotten.
These men suffered bitter cold, fire fights and
the effects of Agent Orange. This is a story
that must be told. It is history and should be
taught to the young of today. God Bless
them!

"Unremembered Victory" is a true account of the
DMZ War in Korea. I'm happy to see that this
story has been written. Every family needs to
have a copy in their personal library. This
story needs to be shared with the younger
generation since there is no mention of it in
our history books. I encourage you to purchase a
copy for your personal library.

I rated this book 5 stars because the story
needs to be told and retold. Having served in
the same unit from 1972 to 1974, I recall
hearing this history while assigned there. My
thanks to Dennis for his service and writing
this story!

Thought it a great perspective view on what went
on in South Korea during the time. Served there
contemporary to the story but was assigned to
higher Headquarters at I Corps commanding both
the 2nd ID and the 7th ID. In G2 I spent much of
my time all along the DMZ on ground, mountain
tops, and in the air doing reconnaissance.
During my time in the TOC incursions,
firefights, armistice violations where frequent
and never ending. The book reflects the spirit
of the front-line men who were on the line and
very much fighting with as much intensity as
could be. Good read brought a sense of nostalgia
to me as at the time I was very young and
remembered it and could sense the authenticity.

Unremembered Victory is a mindblower. I've heard
some of these stories, but it was only when I
could read them in one go that I could
understand the importance of Korea 1968. This is
an American war story told in the spirit of
Hemingway's Farewell to Arms and Mailer's Naked
and the Dead, in an intense style that evokes
Thomas Wolfe and Dave Eggers. It's an E-ticket;
enjoy the ride.

I enjoyed reading the book Unremembered Victory
by Dennis H. Klein. Having served in Vietnam I
related to the danger and fear associated with
service in the Korean DMZ. I recommend for the
public to learn the truth from that era.

In the book Unremembered Victory, I really liked
the way musical lyrics were used illustrating
the times. I had not known the story of the
Korean HOSTILITIES and the story is educational.

Klein's Unremembered Victory presents its
readers with a serious premise and,
concurrently, a call to rally to a cause of
action on behalf of our country. This is a romp
through a war never reported so as not to
confuse the ONE STORY of the 60s Generation
allowed by mainstream press-Vietnam. I agree
with the author that this is a SECOND STORY to
Nam that convinces us that we are better than we
are told. It is a '68 story how we started the
year STILL unabashedly believing in Truth
Justice and the American Way. Due the excesses
of Vietnam, by the end of the year we did not
know what we believed in and still don't. Being
better than we are told is intended to replace
the current need to offset pain of being an
American by feeling superior to others with
believing in one another again.

Unremembered Victory a good read. Interesting
commentary on the General but hard ass, hands
off or hands on, but he did know and care what
was going on in the Division I think,

Unremembered Victory a story that needs to be
publicized though I fear no one cares anymore. I
can promise one thing I will fight for all the
KIA of the 2nd KOREAN WAR to receive the
recognition and honor they deserve.
